Makeup artist Mary Sher recently revealed the surprising method she uses to contour her nose in a now-viral video.

Mary first outlined a thick line over the bump of her nose with a cream contour, then applied thin lines of concealer to the top and bottom of the stick.

She then applied more concealer to the sides of her nose and rubbed it outward to even out the bump.

Several others have taken part in the trend, with some even designing unique nose outline templates to match the TikTok and Instagram beauty filters.

But many still struggled with not being able to shape bumps on larger noses.

Emily, a former model, posted a nose contouring tutorial from the “light makeup” beauty filter.

“None of the other tutorials worked for me because I have a huge bump on my nose and one over it too,” she said.

Emily first drew small lines with the contouring stick on the tip of her nose to create two semi-circles, then pushed two thin lines down the side of her nose towards her forehead.

“You have to be very careful with flat and curved noses because it’s hard to draw straight lines on them,” she advised.

She added: ‘It’s really important to use a beauty tool that gives you a lot of control – whether it’s the flat end of a beauty blender or a small brush.’

Emily also revealed that she applied blush to her cheekbones and blended it into the lines she drew on her nose.

“Blending the blush this high really gets rid of the mud that creates the contour.” she said.

Thousands of people have thanked makeup gurus for their expert contouring tips.

“I have a super crooked nose and this is the first tutorial that works for me!” one woman wrote.

“I can’t believe it took people so long to get behind nose bump contouring,” added another. “I was afraid I would need a rhinoplasty!”
