The Australian mum-of-three has detailed how she lost a whopping 53kg in just 18 months using a weight loss challenge and portion control.

Jasmine Ready, who lives with her family in Queensland, has embarked on two successful weight loss journeys using The Healthy Mummy’s exercise and cooking tips.

Growing up, Ms Ready admits she “never really exercised that much” and watched the number on the scale keep climbing – until having children made her fitter than ever.

“I’ve been overweight my whole life and the one thing I don’t want is for my kids to go down the same path I did,” she said.

‘I want to be positive about my body and show my little ones how important it is to eat good food and take care of yourself.’

Ms Ready tried a number of different strategies before following The Healthy Mummy’s 28-day weight loss challenge, including skipping meals, exercising regularly and choosing “healthier foods”.

“The light bulb moment for me was when I realized it’s best to watch your portion sizes. I learned that you don’t need to cut out certain food groups to lose weight,” she said.

“In fact, by reducing portion sizes and meal prepping, my family’s grocery bill is now down $400 a month!”

After completing the 28-day challenge – and losing 39 kilos in the process – Ms Ready continued to lose weight using only the program’s app and tracking her food intake.

“My success is that I don’t eat after 7pm, I eat five times a day and I exercise 30 minutes a day,” she said.

“My food diary is very boring, but it’s easy and cheap.”

Breakfast used to start with a smoothie, but now Mrs Ready prepares Weetbix overnight so she can be on the move quickly.

Morning tea is watermelon before she prepares a fresh meat and salad sandwich for lunch.

“My success is that I don’t eat after 7pm, I eat five times a day and I exercise 30 minutes a day,” she said.

Afternoon tea is again watermelon followed by an Uncle Toby’s Milo bar before a dinner of meat and vegetables, apricot chicken, risotto, spaghetti or pumpkin soup.

What’s more, Jasmine is a huge fan of The Healthy Mummy smoothies, with the salted caramel being her favourite.

“I love the variety of smoothies so quick and easy, my favorite flavor is the salted caramel belly powder with strawberries and milk,” she said.

“Set small goals and small rewards. I was always excited when I hit every five pounds and rewarded myself with either new gym clothes, hair or a pedicure.”
