It’s a cult film from 2000 about a bar run by a group of gorgeous women, watched by millions of people around the world.

The 45-year-old said that acting in the cult classic was not a pleasant experience as the crew member who initially worked on her kept telling her ‘you’re not beautiful’.

Lynskey told The Hollywood Reporter that it was a particularly challenging shoot because the actors were given “ridiculous” diets to follow.

“I was already starving and as skinny as I could be for this body and I was still a size four,” she explained.

Lynskey noted that Perabo faced even more scrutiny as the film’s lead, recalling ‘the way people talked about her body, talked about her looks, focused on what she ate.’

Earlier this year, Lynskey told Rolling Stone that she had a similar experience while filming Yellowjackets, saying that a member of the production team asked her before filming how she planned to lose weight.

“They asked me, ‘What are you planning? I’m sure the producers will get a coach. They’d love to help you with that,” Melanie told the publication.
