Amy Schumer says she’s happy with the results of her recent liposuction and it makes her feel “much better” — but admits she felt a little guilty about the “privilege” of having expensive cosmetic procedures that not everyone can afford.

Appearing on the ‘Making Space with Hoda Kotb’ podcast, the 40-year-old comedian opened up about the fat removal procedure, explaining that she had tried CoolSculpting before but didn’t see any results.

But while she’s happy with the results, she said she struggled with some guilt about using a weight-loss tool that isn’t available to everyone, and had to convince herself it was okay.

“I felt bad because it’s such a privilege,” she said. ‘And I’m like, “Well, you know, people with money, they drive nice cars too”… So my “nice car” is that I’ve had, you know… a liter of fat sucked out of my belly.’

But she admits she felt a little guilty about the “privilege” of having expensive cosmetic procedures that not everyone can afford.

Amy first shared the results of her liposuction in January with photos of herself in a bathing suit and claimed to weigh 170 pounds.

She has continued to be open about it, telling Hoda this week that honesty is important to her.

“I wanted to share it with people, just because I can’t lie about myself. I just can’t do it. I can’t be like, “Yeah, crisps. And I just had smoked salmon,” you know? So I had to be real,” she said.

“I just wanted to be honest about it more than anyone [saying]“God, she looks like she’s lost weight.

“And by the way, I look pretty much the same,” she added. “I really would never tell anyone! And there wouldn’t be one headline like, “Schumer lost weight!”

“I'm just trying to keep it in perspective. I try to think about what is achievable and what is unfair. And it's kind of unfair to me,

But Amy noticed the weight gain herself and said she was “physically uncomfortable” with the extra pounds around her midsection.

“I think I was in a weird time after the hysterectomy,” she said.

“And I was like, you know what? I have time right now, I just want to – and I’ve tried other things. Like trying CoolSculpting. I personally did not get any results from it. And I tried everything else and you know, have a c-section and endometriosis like I had.”

She figured if she’s ‘willing to get frostbite, or whatever CoolSculpt does, why don’t I just do this thing that works?’

“And I did it. And it worked. And I feel a lot better about myself,” she said. “I’m really happy about it. Dr. Jordan Turner, Shout!’

But she took the time to remind herself that she’s lucky to be able to afford the procedure and doesn’t want to mislead other people into thinking she did it without help.

“I’m just trying to keep it in perspective. I try to think about what is achievable and what is unfair. And it’s kind of unfair to me,” she said. “The people I’m closest to don’t roll in the dough.”

Amy first revealed she had liposuction in January when she shared photos of herself in a black one-piece swimsuit.

‘I feel good. Finally,” she wrote. ‘It’s been a journey thanks for helping me get my strength back @seckinmd (endo) @jordanternermd (lipo) never thought I’d be doing anything but talking to me after your 2.5 a year won’t shrink your uterus and you’ll be 40. @paulvincent22 vickie Lee (acupuncture) my girl Nicole from tox my friends and fam. The mother-of-one has long been open about her struggle with endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus begins to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

The condition can cause significant pain to sufferers and impact fertility.

She revealed last year that she underwent a hysterectomy and appendectomy to treat the condition.

She spoke further about her liposuction on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast earlier this month.

“Like when I heard liposuction I was just like, that’s so crazy to me and I’d say I’ll never do anything.”

Also this month, she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the host told her she looked fantastic.

Amy replied, “I know, right? You know what it is, I’ve been eating vegetables with every meal and lime.’
